LONDON, November 28, 2008, World Sindhi Congress in a press statement has strongly condemned the dreadful terrorist attack in Mumbai resulting in loss of life and injuries to hundreds of civilians.

World Sindhi Congress and Sindhi people are appalled, shocked and disgusted at the barbaric attacks on Indian civilians and Indian democracy. We strongly condemn it and are together with the international resolve to face the forces of darkness.  The current calamity further confirms the necessity to support and strengthen the secular and democratic people and forces in the region. It is no surprise that WSC in its latest international conference, held on 22nd Nov 2008, concluded that the regional and global peace and security will remain severely challenged due to increased threat from fundamentalist anti-democratic forces in the region. The conference identified that the secular and democratic Sindhi people need assistance of all peace loving people and international community in their genuine struggle for democratic rights enabling them to play an effective role to face the challenge.

About the World Sindhi Congress (WSC) is one of the most prominent human rights advocacy organizations for Sindh and Sindhis. The main objective of WSC is to create a better understanding among the international community about the persecuted status of Sindhis in Pakistan and about Sindhi people’s struggles for their human rights, including the right of self-determination. WSC is a registered company in England and Wales, and California, USA, organzied to carry out non-profit activities only. For more information, visit http://www.worldsindhicongress.org
