Sindh Conference Held in London Linking the Sovereignty of Sindh to the World Peace
 
LONDON , October 4, 2009, The decentralization of Pakistani hegemony and the presence of a sovereign Sindh could create a new path to democracy and a new method of counteracting pan-Islamic forces. This was the consensus view at the 21st International Conference of the World Sindhi Congress (WSC), a human rights advocacy group for Sindh and Sindhis, held in London on 3rd  October 2009.

106th Birth Anniversary of Saeen GM Syed Celebrated in London PDF Print E-mail

World Sindhi Congress organized the 106th birthday of Saeen GM Syed. The event was organized to pay tribute to the life, works and sacrifices of Saeen GM Syed, the father of modern Sindhi nationalism. The meeting was attended by Sindhi and Baloch human rights and political activists and intellectuals from across the UK. The meeting started with Sindh’s national anthem and the birthday cake was cut.

Dr. Hidayat Bhutto welcomed the participants on behalf of WSC and shed light on the life of Saeen GM Syed. Others who spoke about the life of Saeen GM Syed and his historic role and monumental contributions and huge sacrifices for Sindhi nation included Ms. Suraiya Makhdoom and Dr. Haleem Bhatti. Dr. Charles Graves, Secretary General of Interfith International, from Switzerland and Mir Salim Raza, a renowned Sindhi political activist, from Germany sent messages about the life of Saeen GM Syed which were read at the meeting.

The speeches were followed by an interactive session on the current situation in Sindh and Balochistan and options for Sindhi and Baloch nations. The participants who contributed to this session included Dr. Naseer Dashti, Dr. Haleem Bhatti, Dr. Rubina Greenwood, Ms. Suraiya Makhdoom, Dr. Mahboob Dahani, Sultan Mahar, Sanjay Ahuja, Sadiq Bhanbro, Manzoor Mangi, Karim Rind, Awais Mahar and Lakhu Luhana. The session concluded that the political struggle of Sindhi and Baloch nations have to strengthen significantly to achieve the national emancipation, the diaspora need to play a meaningful role in strengthening the political forces on ground and the destiny of Sindhi and Baloch nations is intertwined.
